Yo, Juliette: Having been in DBT a minute myself and indeed benefited
exponentially from the therapy in its’ totality, am I alone in finding this
particular aspect not only the affirmations we were warned of earlier(ex.
“I’m good” whenever feeling one is “bad”)now sporting a unconvincing
facelift, but a one way ticket to even deeper enmeshment in the emotional
tug of war(“I’m inadequateIt ain’t global
warming in question here, hoss it’s your daily life and you’re dropping the
ball at nearly every juncture”)that’s in no small part the root of our
distress to begin with?
“There are few things more pernicious than exuberant fools…”
-Article in Business Weekly on executive coaching, incidentally a hotbed of
cheerleading more often than not.
